Caller: Master, what is the difference between demons and negative karmic debt?
Master Jun Hong Lu:
A demonic obstacle is actually means the demon of our minds. I have said before that a true demon has a form….it comes from the spiritual world. However, we generally refer to a “demon” as meaning the demon of our minds. For example, the demon of your mind will surface when you cannot think clearly.
So, what is negative karma? When you are not able to think clearly and eventually commit an improper act, this will form negative karma. (Oh, Master has said before to recite the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance and Little House to resolve negative karmic debts, and recite Jie Jie Zhou plus Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou to resolve demonic obstacles). Recite the Heart Sutra. (Can we use the Little House and pray to Bodhisattva for getting rid of the demon of our minds?) Yes, you can. (How should we pray Bodhisattva?) Tell Bodhisattva, “Please eliminate the demon of my mind”.
