CAN WE REPLACE FRESH FLOWERS AND FRUIT ON A BUDDHIST ALTAR AT NIGHT?

Wenda20150719A 58:03
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: Now that it’s summer we frequently need to replace fresh flowers and fruit on our Buddhist altar. I’m worried I may not have enough time to do this in the morning. Therefore, I usually replace fresh flowers and fruit a day in advance, that is, after I have offered the evening incense for that day. Is it proper to do this?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, you may do so.

Caller: Or, would it be best to do it early in the morning?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Since you are left with no choice, it’s suitable to do it at night. However, it’s best to replace these items in the morning. In the event you don’t have time to do so in the morning, changing them at night is also fine.

Caller: Alright.

TRANSFERRING MERITS IS THE FASTEST SOLUTION TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS ENCOUNTERING PROBLEMS

Wenda20171217B 30:41
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: The child of a fellow Buddhist friend is going to sit for a major exam. Every day the father recites Cundi Dharani (Zhun Ti Shen Zhou) 49 times and the Heart Sutra 21 times for his child. He also intends to transfer some of the merits he has accumulated through propagation of Buddhism to his child, and to seek Bodhisattva’s blessing to ensure his child passes the exam with flying colours. Master Lu, can the transfer of one’s merits help to achieve a desired outcome much faster?

Master Jun Hong Lu: This is the quickest method, even faster than performing recitations of Little Houses and scriptures. Let me cite a simple example: You have some savings at home. When you need to resolve a problem that has just arisen, is it faster to earn the money through work, or to tap directly into your savings at home?

Caller: It’s faster to take it directly out of your savings.

A PERSON WHO GETS ANGRY OFTEN WILL HAVE A BAD AURA; CALMNESS AND COLLECTEDNESS DO WONDER TO ONE’S HEALTH

Wenda20180107A 22:25
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: How substantial is my karmic obstacles now? Do I have a poor aura?
Master Jun Hong Lu: You are doing very well. I tell you this specifically. You have improved a lot and are very different from the past. In the past, you…… People who often get angry will certainly have a bad energy field. One is calm and collected has a steady mood, good blood circulation and normal blood pressure.
On the contrary, those who having high blood sugar, high blood lipids and high blood pressure (The Three Highs) are unable to get inner peach. This can form a vicious cycle. The more frequent they lose their temper, the higher their blood pressure and blood sugar level will rise to. The higher their blood sugar level is, the more heat-headed they will become. This is how the vicious cycle goes. So, if you feel that you are getting angry less often, and becoming calm and collected, you are in good health.
Caller: Thank you Master Lu. I will take the teachings of Bodhisattva and Master Lu seriously and be a better person.
Master Jun Hong Lu: Do work hard . Do not worry. Master Lu will bless you.

SUFFERING IS A WAY OF REPAYING OUR KARMIC DEBTS; “HAPPINESS COMES AFTER SUFFERING”

Wenda20170716A 09:31
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: Master, occasionally when you were reading totem you commented that a certain person had gone through a lot of suffering, but was keeping mum about it. May I ask, for cases like this, is it because the person was indebted to the other party they remained silent while enduring the suffering?
Master Jun Hong Lu: It is generally so. Suffering in silence implies that they are bearing the suffering, and the bearing itself, is a form of repayment. Do you understand?
Caller: This kind of temperament is also useful for helping us to terminate a karmic issue we have towards someone or something. Is it right for me to say this, Master?
Master Jun Hong Lu: That’s right. You see, there are people who keep going through suffering after suffering. Do you have any idea what comes next?
Caller: Happiness comes after suffering.
Master Lu: That’s it. The person does not suffer any more, and so they begin to experience happiness in life, as they are no longer creating any new negative karma for themselves.
Caller: Thank you for answering my question Master.

CHOICE OF A HAT’S COLOUR IF WEARING IT DUE TO WEATHER, WORK OR ANOTHER REASON

Wenda20171215 38:15

Caller: Master, as the weather is now very cold, sometimes we have to wear a hat when outdoors. If we must wear a hat, which colours should we pay particular attention to wearing?
Master Jun Hong Lu: It's best to choose brighter colours, such as white. Avoid black.
Caller: How about red?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Red is alright.

EVERYTHING IS ARRANGED IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY

Master Jun Hong Lu’s
Public Talk in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
14 December 2015

EVERYTHING IS ARRANGED IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY

There comes a time in our life’s journey when we find that the cold freezing rain of exercise is beyond our level of endurance. We should then learn Buddhism, practice patience under humiliation, dedicate ourselves to progress, and last but not least, wait.  Life is like a giant tree sheltering us from the storm.  As long as we put in our best efforts, slowly but surely success will come to us.  We may not see an immediate result from our efforts, but with a little patience, often it will come to us when we least expect it.

When we are faced with adversities, when everything seems to be going against us - our relationship, job, career, and shattered dreams when we have reached total desperation, try seeing things from a different perspective.  Everything is arranged in the best possible way.  Disaster and happiness are twins.  Behind every disaster, there is a drop of happiness. There is always a hidden part of happiness where disaster may be sitting just on the horizon.

LIFE LIBERATION PERFORMED AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY CAN BE VIEWED FROM HEAVEN

Wenda20150104A 54:48  [Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program]

Caller:  In accordance to Master Lu’s teachings on the triple gems, one of our Buddhist friends wishes to encourage everyone to be persistent in performing life liberation.  However, due to the unique environmental conditions at the place where they live, it is illegal to gather more than seven or eight people in a group. As a result, Buddhist friends will go in smaller groups at different intervals.

However, a few of the Buddhist friends tend to be more tenacious and feel that it is more appropriate or auspicious to perform liberation only when the sun rises and reveals itself in the sky.   Master, please enlighten us on this matter.   When the sky is bright, is there any difference to the performance of liberation before or after the Sun is out?  Would Bodhisattva and Dharma protectors know?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Remember, there is only day in heaven.  Therefore, regardless of the time you perform liberations, visions from heaven will not be obstructed as there will be no darkness brought about by nightfall.

Caller:  Which means Bodhisattva would be able to know?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Of course.  In fact, the minute a thought surfaces in your mind, Bodhisattva would know.  Not to mention if you are performing good deeds like life liberation.

OVER THE LONG-TERM, SILENT RECITATION OF MANTRAS MAY CAUSE BLOOD DISORDERS

Wenda20170618A 39:56
(Master Jun Hong Lu's Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  Master Lu, you previously mentioned that we may recite mantras in our hearts if the surrounding energy field is not conducive.  For example, if a person works in a hospital and always has to perform their recitation silently, it could be harmful to the blood over a long period of time.  Is there any solution to this?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Yes. You may recite softly during the day. On top of this, you may also release your breath as an alternative to making sounds while performing recitations.

Caller:  Yes.

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Don’t keep your mouth tightly shut when performing recitations, as this will certainly cause harm to your blood.

A DREAM OF PUTTING ON SHOES WITHOUT SOCKS

Wenda20170728 41:54
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  I dreamed of being in a hurry to attend Master Lu’s Dharma Convention, and in my dream I put on my boots without any socks.

Master Jun Hong Lu:  This could mean at certain times during your course of cultivation, you may have handled something inappropriately, or were not thorough enough in your efforts.  You may have been putting in your best effort, but sometimes it still wasn’t good enough.

Caller:  I understand.

THE EMERGENCE OF ALL KINDS OF WORRIES IN THIS WORLD ARE OPPORTUNITIES GIVEN TO US TO DISCOVER OUR SHORTCOMINGS

Excerpt from Master Jun Hong Lu's Public Talk, Jakarta, Indonesia
11 March 2018

Master Jun Hong Lu: The fame, status and wealth owned by a person are just temporary and will never bring us eternal happiness; conversely, these will create worries for us.

Many people asked me: “Master Lu, what is the source of vexation?”  Let me tell you; you are the source of vexation!

You are being angry because you are intolerant;
You are being depressed because you lack sunshine in the heart;
You are worried because you lack wisdom;
You are grieved because you lack inner strength;
You are resentful because you lack compassion;
You are jealous because you are daunted by an inferiority complex.
Every vexation is caused by ourselves.
You must remember this:
The rising of all kinds of worries are opportunities for us to discover our shortcomings.

WILL FOREIGN SPIRITS ENTER OUR HOUSES WHEN WE MAKE INCENSE OFFERINGS AT NIGHT WITH WINDOWS OPENED AND CURTAINS CLOSED?

Wenda20170120  01:14:24
(Master Jun Hong Lu's call-in radio program)

Caller: Master Lu, when we offer incense at 10pm, could foreign spirits enter our houses through the windows if the windows are opened while the curtains are closed?

Master Jun Hong Lu: If the spirit is not related to you in any way, it will not enter; if it does, it could enter even if you lock your door with iron bars. The wall to your house is simply non-existent in the spiritual world. Why don’t you just install a few more locks so that it will not enter? You need to be a little wiser.

DOES BODHISATTVA’S BLESSED AURA STILL EXIST IN PARTLY ROTTEN FRUITS REMOVED FROM THE ALTAR?

Wenda20170806A 52:18
(Master Jun Hong Lu's Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  Master has mentioned before fruits offered to Bodhisattva contain a positive aura.  However, after these fruits have been removed from the altar, and before we had a chance to consume them, they may partially go bad due to the recent hot weather. Does these fruits still contain the blessed aura of Bodhisattva?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Yes.

Caller:  Can we still consume them?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  After you removed all of the parts that have gone bad, you may eat it as you would normally do.

Caller:  Alright.

NO NEED TO COVER THE LITTLE HOUSES EACH TIME AFTER DOTTING A CIRCLE

Wenda20170113 01:22:48
(Master Jun Hong Lu's call-in radio program)

Caller: Master Lu, when we perform recitation of scriptures and dot on the Little House simultaneously, do we need to cover the Little House with a piece of read cloth each time after we dot on a circle? After this we proceed with recitation, and open the red cloth again before dotting the next circle.

Master Jun Hong Lu: No need, because when you recite the Little House, Dharma Protectors and Bodhisattvas are by your side.

Caller: Dharma Protectors are by our side when we are reciting sutras or mantras, right?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Yes, Bodhisattvas are present as well.

PERFORMING DHARMA DANA (SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE OF BUDDHISM)

Shuohua20170127  01:04
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)

Caller: Nowadays, many Buddhist practitioners go all out to disseminate various discourses, videos, recordings and so on. However, before disseminating these materials, they have never carefully listened to them or read them. They share them because they learn from Master Lu that the merits and virtues derived from Dharma Dana are immeasurable. They assume that they will gain virtuous achievements and complete wisdom by doing so. Master Lu, please enlighten us, what will be the retribution from this action?

Master Jun Hong Lu: It will result in negative retribution, and what will that be? It will not only result in the failure to help others but also causes harm to the other party’s spiritual life. For example, it would be easy for me to help someone. However, as your wisdom is imperfect and your cultivation is not up to the mark. Furthermore, you still have your own bad habits that you struggle with, your presence might not be inspiring to the person you are trying to help and might deter him from learning Buddhism. The next time, even if I try to approach him, he will not even listen to me. In this scenario, don’t you think you have harmed that person’s spiritual potential? And do you know what retribution is in store for that? You will descend to the animal realm. Do you understand?

PLAYING TWO 'GREAT COMPASSION MANTRA BY GRAND CHOIR' RECORDING IN BIGGER HOUSES

Wenda20170618A 24:29
(Master Jun Hong Lu's Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: I would like to ask, what is the area of coverage when we play the 'Great Compassion Mantra By Grand Choir' softly at home?

Master Jun Hong Lu: As long as you are playing it, there are sound waves. Foreign spirits will be made aware.

Caller:  Do we have to play a few more recordings in double-storey or large houses?

Master Jun Hong Lu: You just need to turn up the volume.  However, it is also recommended to play two recordings in large homes when there is a substantial distance between areas.

IT IS NOT ADVISED TO SHARE SHOES WITH FAMILY MEMBERS

Wenda20170707 01:18:28
(Master Jun Hong Lu's Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  If a mother and daughter have the same size feet, they may share each other’s shoes sometimes.  Is this a good idea or not?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  It’s not a good idea.

Caller:  Is it because by doing so, they will affect each other’s energy fields?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Yes.  It is best not to share shoes, as feet connect with energy from the ground.  The soles of the feet are where all negative elements are released.

KSITIGARBHA BODHISATTVA'S (DI ZHANG WANG PU SA) DISCOURSE IN A DREAM: DAILY CULTIVATION AND RECITATIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT; LAGGING BEHIND IN DAILY HOMEWORK WILL NOT PRODUCE RESULTS IN THE FUTURE

Wenda20160501B 54:18 [Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program]

Caller:  Two days ago, a Buddhist practitioner dreamt of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva giving her guidance:  Daily cultivation and recitations are very important and the accumulated energies are very large.  If we are not diligent, a day’s shortfall in our homework will not produce any result for catching up that day’s work in the future.  After that, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva gave her an idea about the law of conservation of energy, because the Buddhist practitioner had indeed procrastinated and accumulated her daily homework when she was tired and doing all the accumulated recitations incessantly in a day.  Sometimes, her thoughts wandered and she felt very irritable.  This time, she could feel Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva telling her that those improper thoughts were actually her previous life’s karma.  Master Lu, please enlighten us.

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Firstly, this Buddhist practitioner has a very deep affinity with Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.  Secondly, I can vouch for the fact that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had indeed said all those words, because while you were delivering your speech just now, I saw Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.  And thirdly, let me tell you, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has a very loving kindness towards mankind and he felt sad that sentient human beings are heading towards the realm of hell in their lifetimes.  This is due to the ignorance of the daily lifestyle to which each phase must pay attention.

Caller: Master Lu, is this to say that we must not lag behind in our daily homework?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  It is not good to lag behind in homework.  Shortfalls for one or two days are alright, but over prolonged periods they will become a retraction.  Let me ask you, if you are absent from school for one or two days, you can apply medical leaves because of a health issue.  However, if you did not attend school for a whole month, would you not retreat from schooling?

Caller: Yes, indeed.  Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has been concerned all along with the Buddhist practitioner’s cultivation in Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.  There was a time where she procrastinated reciting the daily Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance for a week and then did all the recitations incessantly over the weekend.

ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL WOMEN HERE TO REPAY THEIR ‘DEBTS OF AFFECTION’?

Wenda20170630 52:04
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Question:  Are all beautiful women here to repay ’debts of affection’?

Answer:  It depends.  Those whose looks are flirtatiously pretty and seductive are generally here to repay their debts of affection.  As for those with nice facial features, it is not necessarily so.

Question:  What would be your advice to these women who are seductively pretty, and who are here to repay their debts of affection?  Is there anything they should be cautious about?

Answer:  They need to be mindful not to commit lewd acts. ’Lewdness is the worst of all sins’.  One has to maintain the purity of mind and body.

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT RAMPANT THOUGHTS THAT CAUSE DISTRACTION?

Wenda20170901 01:10:00
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  Master Lu, lately, I have had rampant thoughts that distract me, and I simply cannot control them.  What should I do?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  If you cannot control rampant thoughts, it just goes to show you are not cultivating yourself well.  It requires daily practice to manage your wandering thoughts and keep them under control.

Caller:  I keep trying, but I cannot stop the invasion of these sudden thoughts.

Master Jun Hong Lu:  This is because you have not been curbing your thoughts well.

Caller:  I understand, Master Lu.  From today onward I will learn to control my distracting thoughts.  Thank you for answering my question, Master Lu.

UNDER WHAT SITUATION WILL ONE’S MERITS BE STOLEN AND HOW TO PREVENT MERITS FROM BEING STOLEN

Wenda20170101A  05:22
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)

Caller: Master Lu, you once said if one dreamt about someone stealing our own things, it means their merits are being stolen. Under what situation will our merits be stolen? How can we prevent this?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Leakage of merits and having merits stolen are two different matters. How can your accrued merits be stolen? It can never be. However, if you give help to someone after gaining merits, the person may take away your merits. Take yesterday for example, I was talking about a ninety plus years old elderly mother who sought her niece’s help to look after her welfare. In the end, the niece stole all her life savings. This happens because you have a cause to seek assistance or wish to bear someone’s karma, it will result in leakage of your own merits.

Caller: I understand now. Therefore, how can we prevent our merits from being taken?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Firstly, if you feel that your merits are leaking, the best solution would be to pray to Bodhisattva before helping others: “Guan Yin Bodhisattva, I, XXX wish to help him. I will burn XX number of Little Houses for him to the best of my ability”.

This way, he will receive the XX number of Little House and will not be able to take away your merits. However, if you say “I am willing to help him….” Then you will bear his karmic debts. Another example, a person who owes someone ten thousand dollars and you inform all: “I will only help him to repay one thousand dollars”. Thus, even if you have a hundred thousand dollars in your house, no one can take it away.  However, if you say: “Come, I will settle his debts”. In that case whatever you have in the house will be depleted to settle his debts.

LIFO SELF-CULTIVATION FORM: IT’S BEST TO MAKE OFFERINGS DURING DAY-TIME HOURS

Shuohua20170630 22:01

Caller: Is there any difference in effect between the first incense and the following day’s incense when offering the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance (LIFO) self-cultivation form? Is it better to offer during the day or the night?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Day time is best. LIFO is an act of repentance, so carrying out such an act in an open and honest manner, as day-time represents, would be a better choice.

HOW DO WE OVERCOME EGO-CENTRISM?

Dharma Sharing Session, Singapore
22 October 2017

How do we overcome ego-centrism?

It can be done through understanding the law of causation, and by cherishing our affinities.  Think about it,
‘Why do others dislike me?’,
‘Why do they fail to understand me?’
Do not find excuses for yourself.  We have to recognize where we have done wrong.  By doing so, we are bound to realize the faults within us.
Why are there so many people in this world who misunderstand and dislike us?  Surely not all of them are irrational?
The fact of the matter is, we are the one who is at fault.  So, stop finding excuses for yourself.
First, it has to do with our affinity to others.
Second, it is our personal character.
Therefore, be diplomatic when dealing with others.  Learn to retain the pure land within us where we can be at peace, study Buddhism, nurture our spiritual self and that of other sentient beings’.

NUMBER OF EIGHTY-EIGHT BUDDHAS GREAT REPENTANCE CAN BE RECITED ON BOARD A PLANE

(Master Jun Hong Lu's call-in radio program)

Caller:  Master Lu, if we are on board a plane, how many times of Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance can we recite?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  If you are on your way to attend a dharma talk, you will be blessed by Bodhisattvas, and so you may recite a lot.  When you are on the plane, you are close to so many Bodhisattvas.  Thus, you may certainly recite as you wish, but do not exceeding 21 times.

RECITATION OF THE GREAT COMPASSION MANTRA AFTER CHECKING INTO A HOTEL ROOM

Master Jun Hong Lu's Discourse (Question 181)
29 September 2017

Question: Master, you advised us, when we check into a hotel room, we need to recite the Great Compassion Mantra once for each of the four walls in the room.  If a few Buddhist friends are sharing the same room, can they split the recitation such that each person recites the Great Compassion Mantra once for only one of the four walls?

Answer: When a few people are reciting the Great Compassion Mantra together, the effect is as good as that of group cultivation.  The energy field in the hotel room will naturally be improved, and so it is unnecessary for each person to recite it for all four walls.  However, when you are staying alone in a hotel room, as you have less spiritual power on your own, you will need to recite the Great Compassion Mantra one wall at a time, facing each of the four walls in turn.  On an occasion where a few people are reciting the mantra together, it is unnecessary to do this as the 'sound of Buddha' surrounds and reverberates around the room.  As such, each person may recite the Great Compassion Mantra three times.

WHAT DO VARIOUS TYPES OF DREAMS ABOUT THE ELIMINATION OF NEGATIVE KARMA MEAN

Shuohua20170901 14:17
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  With regards to the elimination of negative karma, if we dream about washing clothes, taking a shower, vomiting or buying new clothes, are there differences in the meanings to take away from these dreams?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Certainly, there are.  If you dreamt about washing clothes, it implies you are cleaning the filth off of your body.  It shows you are turning over a new leaf.  If you dreamt about taking a shower, it is even more impressive.  It means you are transforming yourself from the inside out.

Caller:  What if we dreamt about vomiting something filthy out?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  It implies you are eliminating your karmic obstacles.  It shows the presence of negative karma, and that karmic forces or obstacles have begun to form.  This means the wrongdoing has already occurred.

Caller:  What if I dreamt about buying new clothes?

Master Jun Hong Lu: It implies the person is turning over a new leaf.

Caller:  Generally speaking, how much negative karma can be eliminated by such dreams?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  This is subjective. It depends.

HOW DO WE AVOID BEING CONSTANTLY BOTHERED BY WHAT OTHERS THINK?

Wenda20170813B 23:04
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller: In an effort to break a habit of being too selfish, my Buddhist friend practised to see things from others' perspectives, and learning to put himself in others’ shoes.  However, he ended up being caught in the predicament of constantly bothered by what other people think.  Master, with regards to this phenomenon, may I know how do we find the ‘middle way’ allowing us to be unselfish, as well as not being bothered by what others think of us?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  This is easy.  Turn a deaf ear to them. That’s it!  ’Speak no evil, hear no evil and do no evil.’  What others say has nothing to do with us.  There is nothing we can do to stop them from speaking.  Just ensure we are righteous.  Frankly speaking, if someone says that we are not good, does this make us inferior to them?  The same goes for when they start to spread negative rumours about us. Does this actually make into us a bad person?

Caller:  That’s not possible.  As you once mentioned, ‘A righteous person is able to conquer demons’.

THE INCENSE STICKS’ LENGTH AND THICKNESS SHOULD BE CONSISTENT

Master Jun Hong Lu: They must be of the same length.

Caller: Can the thickness be different?

Master Jun Hong Lu: This would not be good. It is important for the thickness to be consistent when it comes to incense offerings – each incense stick should either be all thick or all thin.

Caller: I get it now.

IT IS BEST NOT TO UNDERGO SURGERY DURING A PERIOD IT HAS BEEN PREDETERMINED THAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE MISFORTUNE. HOW DO WE RESTORE OUR STRENGTH AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE?

Wenda20170903A 10:21(Master Jun Hong Lu’s Call-In Radio Program)

Caller:  Master Lu, we understand ages ending in three, six or nine are all associated with predetermined misfortune. It is best to perform an increased number of prostrations and recitations to neutralize its effects.  In addition, is it also true that we should avoid undergoing surgery?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  Given a choice, it is best to avoid surgery. Only do so if you are left with no other option.  A human body is like a watch.  If we open the cover of the watch once too often, we may damage its vital parts.   Those who undergo frequent surgeries impair their strength.  There once was an elderly man, who claimed to have undergone multiple surgeries, and as a result he passed away.  This is because he had lost all his strength and vigor.

Caller:  For those who have undergone surgery, what is the fastest way to restore their strength?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  First, we should talk less and perform more recitations to seek the blessings of Bodhisattva.  Next, we should not lose our temper.  Anger leads to an internal dissipation of energy.  For example, external dissipation of energy occurs when we engage in physical activities while in a discontented state of mind. However, when we are upset on an emotion level, energy dissipates from within.

Caller:  I understand now.

DIFFERENT LEVELS OF CULTIVATION WILL HAVE DIFFERENT REALMS OF DHARMA PROTECTORS AS GUARDIAN ANGELS

Wenda20160605A 44:23 [Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program]

Caller:  Master Lu, is it true that only Buddhist practitioners who cultivate well will have their special Dharma protectors guarding them?  Or so long as one is reciting, there will be a special Dharma protector guarding him?

Master Jun Hong Lu:  There are gods three feet above our heads.

Caller:  Like the Dharma protector who specially guards that particular person.

Master Jun Hong Lu: Right.  This is to say that everyone’s guardian protector is different.  For example, if you were a Bodhisattva from a very high level realm before and now you are a sentient being in the human realm.  Whenever you encounter problems, you will only need to call out: “Bodhisattva, please protect me”, and your guardian protector will come to your aid immediately.

However, if you were previously from the animal realm and were reincarnated as a human being today, as well as having started your practice of Dharma, when you encounter problems and seek help from Bodhisattva, it gain be a negative response, even with repeated pleas.  Thereafter, when you commit a bad deed, the officials from the underworld will come looking for you.  This is because your grading level is different from them. Let me cite you a simple example; if you are a hooligan and you raise your voice for help, it will be the police coming after you and not some high caliber officer, ha-ha…

BUDDHIST TEACHINGS FROM MASTER JUN HONG LU

Wenda20170212B  49:49
(Master Jun Hong Lu's call-in radio program)

Caller: How do you do Master Lu? The Public Talk held in Singapore will be happening next week. Do you have any words for us?

Master Jun Hong Lu: Buddhist learning is all about going with the flow. When you embark on the path of Buddhist learning, you have to be diligent, to attain enlightenment and learn to let go. This is what I want to tell you. As a human living in this world, how do we transcend the mundane? Bodhisattva had repeatedly urged us to be awakened and to see through all delusions. If you are still delving in the concept of "others" and "me" in this world, when would you be able to attain enlightenment then?

Caller: Understand. Thank you Master Lu.

SECRETLY RECITE THE MANTRA TO UNTIE KARMIC KNOTS

Question: Can we make a vow to recite the Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots (Jie Jie Zhou) 10,000 times to dissolve negative karmic ties and karmic discord between three people, for example, my parents and myself?

Answer: Recite the mantra in secret without your parents knowledge. Otherwise, its effect will be halved.  Some people, pointlessly telling another person he or she is reciting the Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots to resolve conflicts between them.  By doing this, the effect is halved.
