UNDERSTANDING “STUBBORNNESS LEADS YOU NOWHERE AND GAINS YOU NOTHING IN LIFE”

(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)

Caller: Master Lu, you mentioned in your previous discourse that “Being stubborn in life will gain us nothing ultimately”. How do we comprehend this statement?

Master Jun Hong Lu: A stubborn person will gain nothing. “I must have it”; insisting on having something will result in losing it inadvertently and if you don’t get it, all the more you will end up with nothing. “I must have it”, when you did not acquire it, isn’t it nothing? Even when you manage to gain it, it will quickly be taken away from you. This is because things obtained through your stubbornness cannot be kept for long. It will be dissipated very quickly.
