A166: The Double Ninth Festival is a special solar term. According to Master Lu, you may perform the following recitation on this day:
- No more than 63 times of the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance (Li Fo Da Chan Hui Wen)
- No more than 21 little houses for each karmic creditor. For example, no more than 21 little houses for the child of xxx, 21 little houses for a deceased person, 21 little houses for the karmic creditor of the house of xxx, or 21 little houses for the karmic creditor of xxx.
- You may recite a special set of mantras : 3 times of the Great Compassion Mantra and 49 times of the Cintamani Cakravartin Dharani (Ru Yi Bao Lun Wang Tuo Luo Ni). You may pray to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva for good health and good fortune before the recitation. Also, you can recite more sets of the mantras within your ability. This combination of mantras and prayer will help you smooth the path to your future goals.
