THE TYPES OF SCRIPTURES TO BE RECITED WHILE VOLUNTEERING.

Master Jun Hong Lu’s Discourse (Question 137)
December 8, 2016

Question: Master Lu, you mentioned previously in one of your radio programs that virtues will only be gained when a person performs recitation while volunteering. In this case, may I know which scriptures and the number of times we should recite? How should we say our prayers to Bodhisattva?

Answer: You may recite the Heart Sutra (Xin Jing) and the Great Compassion Mantra (Da Bei Zhou). If you feel that you are very ‘clean’ and possess great virtues, you may recite Guna Ratna Sila Dharani (Gong De Bao Shan Shen Zhou), which will immediately convert all your good deeds and virtues into merits. However, one must have a very pure mind, and should not keep looking at other men or women with a lustful intent. Otherwise, it is completely futile even after reciting.
