CAN MERITORIOUS BLESSINGS OFFSET KARMIC OBSTACLES?

Wenda20180504 01:31:10
(Master Jun Hong Lu’s call-in radio program)

Caller: Master Lu, can meritorious blessings and karmic obstacles offset each other?
Master Jun Hong Lu: Meritorious blessings can offset a portion of karmic obstacles, but not entirely.
Caller: In that case, do we eliminate the remaining portions through recitation of the Eighty-Eight Buddhas Great Repentance?
Master Jun Hong Lu: The remaining portions are the old karma that we take along with us in death. This also refers to karma that we cannot eliminate. Meritorious blessings are like an eraser while karma is like black marks written on paper. Although an eraser may remove the majority of such marks, they will not be completely eradicated. Do you understand?
Caller: I understand now, Master Lu.
