Master Jun Hong Lu: To live in this world, we have to take advice from others. Although good medicine cures sickness, it is often unpalatable; likewise, sincere advice given for one’s well-being is often resented. Many people fail in their marriage and many others whom because of their attachments, experience lifelong sufferings without remedy.
We must transform ourselves as after all, the essence of spiritual cultivation is about metamorphosis, where we change to become someone who is unlike our previous selves. It is because of our improper behaviour that cultivation of conduct becomes necessary. Likewise, because our way of thinking is unwholesome, where there is greed, hatred, ignorance, pride and doubt that cultivation of our mind is essential.
