Master Jun Hong Lu: Of course, it is to be performed for the deceased. You may perform recitation or life liberation. In this case, the life liberation is unique as the money belongs to the deceased. Should the money be used for life liberation, one is to perform meritorious deeds on behalf of the deceased.
